Cast Iron Tub tried to kill me!

It's not really all that dramatic, sorry for the clickbait, but it should be noted that if you are going to shatter a cast iron tub that you should wear a sweatshirt. I swung with reckless abandon, taking out my frustrations on a few hundred pounds of inanimate object, and by the time I was done I had cuts all over my arms from the flying plaster and metal.

I did learn my lesson about safety glasses a few months back when I got a small piece of metal stuck to my eyeball and had a doctor use some really nifty glowing dye to find it, so of course they were on. If you're going to do something where any kind of particulate or pieces are flying around, just play it safe instead of dropping a few hundred dollars to learn your lesson the hard way.

Another fun lesson I learned - It is much easier to deal with a cast iron tub if you have a portable band saw, as you can make cuts down the sidewalls to weaken it's integrity before swinging the old sledge. I've done a review on one if anyone is interested in learning more about them.

It feels good to move forward on the new house, and I'm really looking forward to painting it next year. I hate red/brown brick and I think we're going to go with a gray/blue/white color scheme so there is a lot of contrast. It's the kind of house you want to get fixed up and looking amazing, and I really want to do it justice.

In other news, new trucks and vans are extremely expensive! I really want to fix up a cargo van and use it to go camping/fishing in, but i'll have to wait and see if a decent used one becomes available in our area. If you haven't checked out DIY camper vans then you should really go down the rabbit hole; it's totally worth it!
