The Start of something BIG

It all started with a kayak. Yeah, stories don't start that way, but this one does. I love fishing, but was never able to afford a boat. Between the house, the cars, food (man I love food) I just wasn't able to make any meaningful headway into savings with so many other important things taking up my time (work) and money (food). After searching online for a while I read about kayak fishing, and I was hooked.

Absolute freedom; just pack it into the back of my truck, drive to the nearest lake, and fish the way I have always wanted to. Alas, those greedy money demons (jk) from the kayak companies wanted a LOT of money for something that could hold my weight. I'm a tall, stocky guy ( 6'2" 235 lbs. ) and I was totally shocked that I was too big for 90% of the kayaks out there.

There were options of course. Kayak that holds a 100 pound person, $250. A kayak that could actually hold me plus a little bit of fishing gear: over $1000.

Needless to say, I didn't have $1000+ dollars laying around (Did I mention I like food?), of course not, I had wasted my money for years on things that didn't matter. I had a fulltime job and could afford to live, but not waste money like that. I made a decision that day:

I needed to find a way to make some 'Wastin' Money', and fast.

Looking at part time jobs was a bummer. After taxes, limited hours, and not having any days off, I decided that getting a second job wasn't for me. If all I had wanted was the money for the kayak, it would have been a no brainer - but I didn't want to work like that anymore; My eyes had been opened to the world of 'passive income'.

What is passive income? To be as blunt as possible, I want to make money for NOT working. I think all of us do. I decided I didn't just want to earn some cash and walk away, but teach others how to do it too. So I made this website (boy was I wrong about not working, but that's a later article) with the earnings I made from survey sites and here I am now - standing in the doorway of an adventure bigger than Bill & Ted's. Too much?
