Work from home Customer Service Jobs

I am always skeptical of work from home jobs. I have heard so many things about working from home for other companies, where your employment requires a great deal of sensitive personal information. I'm sorry, but there is no way I am giving some random group of people my social security number and a check for $100.

I can't believe that every work from home job is a scam, though the vast majority probably are. I did some research and was able to come up with some promising opportunities, one of which is the Arise platform.

In big bold letters at the bottom of their website is the statement, "This is not an offer of employment. It is an opportunity to enter into a business -to-business relationship with Arise." That may not sound like anything special, but to me I see "subcontractor". It means you are in charge of your work experience. With companies like Carnival Cruises, TurboTax, and Intuit currently using the Arise platform for customer service you know that there is some level of quality there.

As was stated before, you do not work for Arise. They will provide you with opportunities to work for other companies within their platform. It is, as always, up to the applicant to research the company they are applying for.

There are also many opportunities listed on www.indeed.com for either work from home jobs at call centers, or the more traditional in-building call center jobs. Don't be mislead by "call center" and think telemarketer. You will receive a customer service packet with directions on how to answer questions, direct people to additional resources or contacts, and act as the first voice people here when they call for help.

It definitely isn't a job for everyone, but being able to work part-time from home on your own schedule, in my opinion, deserves to have an article in this blog.
